My Story

Arshpreet Kaur, a 10-year-old, faced challenges as her father battled drug addiction. Her mother divorced him due to domestic abuse. A second marriage also ended due to same issues. Now, Arshpreet and her mother live with her maternal family. The family's income comes from her uncle's $200 monthly earnings at a thread factory and her grandfather's $30 monthly laborer's income. They reside in a  home with two rooms and a tin-roofed kitchen. Arshpreet looks up to her grandfather and aspires to be a lawyer.
